Trail Running calendar near Litton 2026-2027

Four self-navigated Peak District trail races from Edale, offering 10.5 to 41 miles with GPX and maps provided, long gaps between checkpoints, mandatory kit requirements and finishers' medals.

Take on the Gateshead Trail 10 km through Derwent Walk Country Park on 22 Aug 2026. Enjoy mostly gentle trails and a social double loop. Finish in a lively village with food, music and coffee and grab a designer medal bottle opener.

Tackle the Hartsop Hop, a classic Lake District fell race from Hartsop covering 19.5 km with 1370 m of ascent. Expect rugged ridges, steep descents and spectacular Haweswater views; enter in advance or on the day while places remain.

Test yourself on the Falstone Falcon, a classic Northumberland fell race: 5.8 km with around 300 m of climb over rugged moorland. No pre entry needed, just turn up for £2 and race under FRA permit.

Enjoy the Summer Extravaganza on the Leeds Liverpool Canal towpath in Kirkstall, with distances from 10k to marathon. Finishers receive bespoke medals and postrace treats and organisers donate £1 to Hollybush charity per runner.

Final event in the Phoenix Running 2026 Summer Series at Chorlton Water Park. Timed laps on a 5.3 km out and back riverside course let participants cover distances from 5 km up to ultra and all finishers receive a bespoke medal.

A 44 km trail marathon from Keswick that climbs Scafell Pike and returns via lakeshore and high mountain trails. The route is marked to Seathwaite but the mountain section is unmarked so navigation skills and mandatory kit are required.

A 5 mile trail race on 23 August 2026 at Leigh Sports Village organised by Leigh Harriers AC. The event is licenced by TRA and follows UK Athletics Rules, with separate entry fees for affiliated and unaffiliated runners.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

Tackle Roseberry Topping on Wed 26 Aug 2026 in this classic short fell race hosted from Newton under Roseberry. Expect a punchy 2.3 km course with big climb and great views, junior entries welcome and on the day entry available.

Take on the Fellrunner Golf Ball in Rossendale for a gritty 8.8 km fell race with 244 m of climbing across classic Bowland terrain. Teams are welcome and post race food and drink ensure a warm community finish.

Kirkstall Rock up n' Run brings a fun pop up Summer Series vibe to the Leeds canal on 27 August 2026 with 5k and 10k routes for runners 16 and over. Register on the night and enjoy a Jumble medal, a drink and hot food.

Take on the Weardale Agricultural Show Fell Race on 29 August 2026 in St John's Chapel. A lively 4 km fell run with 120 m of climb across classic upland terrain, plus fun junior showground races and easy entry on the day.
