Trail Running calendar near Hope Valley 2026-2027

A winter walk or run on Saturday 12th December 2026 around the moors of Hebden Bridge, covering a 21 mile circular route from Mytholmroyd Community Centre. A Santa hat and a small present are required and Open Tracking is used for safety.

A winter walking and running event from Brockholes village hall offering three looped routes of 11.6, 7.2 and 4.2 miles. Entry is by SI Entries only, limited to 150 participants, and includes refreshments and a finish meal.

A winter trail race of 15 miles through the Lincolnshire Wolds on 13 December 2026, with two categories: a weighted loadbearing option and a standard trail option with mandatory grit and specific cut offs.

A pre Christmas trail run on Moel Famau from Bwlch Penbarras that keeps the distance a surprise. The course is between 6 and 12 kilometres, includes hills and varied terrain, and finishes with a mince pie and festive medal.

A winter fell race at Penistone Hill covering 4.9 miles with about 700 ft of climb, for over 16s and part of the Woodentops Race Series. Chip timing is used and the event includes team entries, a Santa hat for entrants and post race prizes.

A family run festive four mile fancy dress run in Horwich on 20 December 2026. Chip timing, a Christmas themed trinket and costume prizes are included and the route is fully marshalled on local roads and paths.

A festive canal running event in Bingley with chip timed races from 5k to marathon along a flat towpath. The course is marshalled and signed, has feed stations every three miles and offers a bespoke festive finisher medal.

A chip-timed night run at St Ives Estate, Bingley on 21 December 2026 offering **5 km** and **10 km** options plus a virtual 5 km or 10 km with medal posted in advance. Entry is limited and no on-the-day registration is available.

A Boxing Day fell race in Totley covering 7.8 km with 270 m ascent across moorland and woods. Entry is £8 and proceeds support S6 foodbank and Edale Mountain Rescue; full winter kit is required.

A traditional Boxing Day fell event near Minsterley, Shropshire, with a 4.8 km course and 244 m of climb on a partially marked route. Modest entry fees apply and proceeds go to the Severn Hospice; walkers and families are welcome.

Whinberry Naze is a festive fell race in Rawtenstall on Sat 26 Dec 2026 covering 6.4 km with 229 m of ascent. Entry on the day costs £6 and there are prizes for fancy dress.

A downhill fell race of 4 km from Moel Famau summit to Cilcain with about 350 m descent. The route is partially marked, for competitors over 16, and is insured by the WFRA; donations are collected at the White Horse in Cilcain.

A blindfolded navigation challenge in Skipton where participants are dropped at unknown locations and must return on foot; options cover 6, 10 and 15 miles and live GPS tracking is available as an optional safety feature.

Bracing winter fell race around Bilberry Fields in Todmorden, offering scenic South West Pennine views and a testing 4.6 mile route with plenty of climb. Friendly club atmosphere with cheap pre entry and on the day entry available.
