Trail Running calendar near Derbyshire 2026-2027

A coastal off road race from Peasholm Park in Scarborough along the historic Cinder Track. Distances from 5K to marathon, water stations about every 3 miles, on the day bib collection and a Grim Bling finisher medal.

An uphill only 10 km from Ruthin to the Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau, featuring mixed terrain and a summit finish above 550 m; transport back to town can be purchased on site.

A club organised 12 km fell race with about 490 m of ascent around Old Town, Hebden Bridge, including a flagged section through the private Castle Carr estate. Pre-entry is required and strict FRA kit rules apply.

A cross country race around Thorpe in the Dovedale valleys, featuring a 4 3/4 mile route with a river crossing at the Stepping Stones. A 1 1/4 mile Mini Dash is held for under 12s with U12 and U9 categories.

A junior fell running race in the Pennines for ages 6 and up. The 2 km course starts near a classic pub. Entry is available on the day.

A traffic free one lap 5K through Roundhay Park that passes the lake and climbs to the Mansion House. Entries are limited to 300, chip timing is provided and finishers receive medals and individual prizes.

MacTuffX Brierley Hill on 4 October 2026 is a functional fitness race in the West Midlands combining ten set Xercises with repeated 400m or 800m run intervals, offering Solo, Doubles and Relay entries and a LITE weight option.

Castle Carr is a 24 km fell race in the South/West Pennines near Hebden Bridge on 4 October 2026, with about 1200 m of ascent and official FRA permit and insurance.

A headtorch trail event at Swinsty Moor Car Park offering a half marathon, 10 km and 5 km around Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs, with water stations, pay-and-display parking, and a finisher medal for every participant.

A six hour trail event at Sence Valley Forestry Park on a **3.3-mile** hilly loop; participants complete as many laps as they can within the time limit. Canicross and rucking are permitted, and entrants may choose a medal or a tree-planting..

A trail event at Cuerden Valley Park on Friday 9 October 2026 where runners complete repeated 5k laps within a six hour limit. Finishers receive an official time and a bespoke medal.

A backyard ultra at Turvey House where runners repeat a 4.167 miles loop each hour; solo and paired entries are available, with 8 hour and 7 hour capped options and chip timing.

Tideswell Terminator is a Peak District fell race on 10 October 2026, covering 9.1 km with 283 m of climb across scenic hills. Pre entry only, age 18 plus, this short course is a bracing test for fell runners.

A 13.1 mile trail race around Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone with varied terrain, about 1,700 feet of ascent, one halfway aid station, a finisher medal and a voucher for a pint or non alcoholic drink.

A trail half marathon on official pathways around Rivington, starting and finishing at Rivington and Blackrod High School on 10 October 2026. Organised by Chorley Women FC, the race requires prior half marathon experience.

A multi terrain trail event at Endcliffe Park featuring a 10k trail and a 2.5k children's fun run. The event attracts over 1,000 runners annually and uses grass, paved paths and woodland trails.

A trail running event on 11 October 2026 at Cannock Chase Forest offering Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and a Junior Race, with chip timing, a themed medal, marked routes and an event village with food and partner giveaways.

Withins Skyline on 11 October 2026 is a 6.2 mile fell race around Penistone Hill Country Park, including Top Withins and Bronte Bridge. Junior races include goody bags and Halloween themed fancy dress prizes.

An off road half marathon around the Goyt Valley with about 760 m of climb, marked junctions and required full fell kit. Two water points and hot food at the finish, held in aid of Buxton Rotary.

Trail races at Grafham Water from Marlow Park with fully marked 10k and half marathon routes, water stations and on-course first aid. Entries priced at £25 and £30, minimum ages apply, and all finishers receive a medal.
