The East Coast "Chuffer" is a trail running event on 4 October 2026 at Peasholm Park, N Bay Promenade, Scarborough YO12 7TR. The event follows the historic Cinder Track and the old railway line, with a mix of coastal views and woodland sections. Water stations are provided at approximately every 3 miles. Every finisher receives a Grim Bling medal. Parking is available in council carparks around Peasholm Park and on the seafront; council charges may apply. Bibs are collected on the day at registration.

Course format and logistics

The half marathon and marathon use a 6.7 mile loop (half marathon = two laps, marathon = four laps). Separate mapped routes exist for the 5k, 10k and 20 mile distances. The route is off-road, using cinder track and sections of tarmac. Some participants have reported measured distances for certain races being shorter than advertised.
