The East Coast "Chuffer"
The East Coast Chuffer is a trail running event based at Peasholm Park, N Bay Promenade, Scarborough (What3Words ///unions.awards.lists). The races are licenced by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules and use the old railway Cinder Track as the main route.
Distances on offer include:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon - two laps of a 6.7 mile loop
- 20 Mile
- Marathon - four laps of a 6.7 mile loop
The off-road route follows the former railway line and includes coastal views, stretches of woodland, and sections of cinder track and tarmac. Water stations are placed at approximately three mile intervals along the course. Route maps are published for each distance.
Parking is available in council carparks around Peasholm Park and along the seafront at Scarborough; local parking charges may apply. Bibs are collected on the day at the event registration point located at What3Words ///unions.awards.lists. Every finisher receives the Grim Bling medal.
