Punk Panther Autumn Headtorch Half

The Punk Panther Autumn Headtorch Half is a weekday trail running event held at Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs. The event takes place on a Tuesday evening and features three distinct distances to choose from:

  • Half Marathon (approximate climb of 800ft)
  • 10 km (approximate climb of 400ft)
  • 5 km (approximate climb of 200ft)

The courses consist of laps around the local water features. Participants in the Half Marathon complete two laps of both Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs. Those running the 10 km distance complete one lap of both reservoirs, while the 5 km route consists of a single lap of Swinsty Reservoir. The course is not marked with tape, and a head torch is a mandatory requirement for all runners.

The event is based at Swinsty Moor Car Park, where registration takes place and the start line is located. Facilities include a toilet block and a checkpoint providing water at the finish line and between laps for half marathon participants. The finish line is located at the edge of the woods near the road crossing to the car park. Every finisher is presented with a medal upon completion. Participation is restricted to individuals aged 16 or older, and the total field is limited to 150 entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
