Trail Running calendar near Cholmondeley 2026-2027

Multi distance trail event in Preston on 23 August 2026, with 10k, half, marathon and ultra options on mainly hard surfaced park paths. Aid stations, bespoke medals and a six hour time limit are included.

A five mile trail race at Pennington Flash on 23 August 2026, organised by Leigh Harriers at Leigh Sports Village. The event is licenced by TRA and held under UK Athletics rules, with separate affiliated and unaffiliated entry prices.

A single-lap, multi-terrain trail race of about 7 miles through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park in Leeds, organised by Valley Striders AC with on-site facilities, age-group prizes and fundraising for St Gemma’s Hospice.

A 10 mile trail race through Radnor forest in Mid Wales on 23 August 2026, held in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit in Hereford. The route reaches Black Mixen at 2130 ft and includes forestry roads, moorland and tree covered single track.

Rumble In The Jumble V is a six hour challenge in Penistone with out-and-back laps along an old railway line, offering distances from 5K to ultra. Aid stations, a choice of medals and a goody bag are provided.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

A one lap trail and road race of approximately 10K at National Trust Lyme in Disley with 272 metres of ascent, full course marshals and marking, free park admission and food vendors at the Timber Yard. Entry options from £28.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

A midweek fell race near Bury covering about 6.5 km with 400 m of climb, held at the Hare & Hounds. The event allows teams, requires a minimum age of 16, and has a 1 hour 10 minute cutoff at Moorbottom Road.

A pop up evening running event in Kirkstall, Leeds offering 5k and 10k routes along canal-side paths. Entry is available on the night or online and runners receive a jumble medal plus food and drink options.

A non stop 130 mile canal towpath race from Liverpool to Leeds run under UK Athletics rules. Open to runners aged 20 and over, the event has a 40 hour limit and a limited number of unsupported entries with regular feed points.

Tackle a classic Pennines fell race in Pendleton on 29 August 2026. The 8 km course packs 457 m of ascent across rough terrain, with on the day entries and homemade cakes and a cosy village pub to reward you.

A trail event from Skipton across Pennine and Dales Way terrain offering 13, 20, 34 and 50 mile courses with checkpoints, trackers for ultras, mandatory safety kit and recorded climb and ranking points.

Nottingham Running Festival at Nottingham Racecourse in Colwick Country Park features a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and junior race, supports Nottinghamshire Hospice, and includes medals, free photos, chip timed results and an event village.

A chip timed, multi terrain flat 10 km race around Pershore that starts at Pershore Leisure Centre and finishes in Abbey Park. Entry is online only, limited to 325 places and includes a medal, water and a plum for finishers.

A hill race near Porthmadog covering 7.2 km with 564 m of ascent, partially marked and requiring navigational skills and experience. Entry is day only for £5 and teams may enter free.

A fell race at Powder House Field near Hebden on 31 August 2026 covering 1.50 miles 3.20 km with about 400 feet 244 meters of climb, featuring a steep ascent, top running and an uphill finish.

A 7.4 km mountain race with 380 m ascent in the Clwydian Range, held during the Cilcain Show. It includes senior inter-regional and North Wales regional championships, junior races with free entry, and on-site facilities.

A scenic 5.6 mile undulating trail race around Upper Denby with homemade flapjack for finishers, age category prizes and a trophy for the first local man and woman home.

Scenic 10 km fell race in the historic village of Eyam with a route over Sir William Hill and Abney Moor. A 3 km junior race runs on the day; prizes, real ale and a barbecue follow and places are limited.
