Punk Panther Dales Dazzler

Punk Panther Dales Dazzler is a trail running event based in Skipton that uses high ground around Wharfedale and sections of the Pennine Way and the Dales Way. The route links fell and valley paths and passes through towns and villages in the Dales.

Distances:

  • 13 miles (approximate climb 1,500 ft; ITRA 1; UTMB Q20K)
  • 20 miles (approximate climb 2,200 ft; ITRA 1; UTMB Q20K)
  • 34 miles (approximate climb 4,200 ft; ITRA 2; UTMB Q50K)
  • 50 miles (approximate climb 7,600 ft; ITRA 3; UTMB Q100K)

The course departs from Skipton and heads west to join the Pennine Way near Pinhaw Beacon, then passes Thornton in Craven, Gargrave, Malham Tarn, Arncliffe and Starbotton before following the Dales Way through Kettlewell, Grassington and Burnsall to Barden Bridge and returning to Skipton via Embsay. Routes will be taped or signed except the 50 mile route; competitors should not rely solely on tapes for navigation.

Checkpoints provide water, soft drinks, energy bars and snacks including vegan and gluten free options. All ultramarathon entrants receive a tracker; half marathon and 20 mile runners can hire a tracker for a fee. A mandatory kit list applies to all distances and random kit checks will be carried out on course. Every finisher is awarded a medal and an event T shirt unless they opt out. Pinhaw is an 8 km fell race on 8 May 2026 near Earby in the South/West Pennines, climbing about 213 m. Entry is available both in advance and on the day with modest fees.

Three circular challenge routes of 26.2, 23 and 18 miles around the Colne Valley near Marsden. Entries are by SIEntries with a 150 person limit and include checkpoints, refreshments and a finish meal.

A self-navigated trail event around Delph, Saddleworth covering about 19 miles with 3000 ft of ascent. The unmarked course visits five trig points, has three manned checkpoints, and requires full kit and a minimum age of 18.
