Punk Panther Dales Dazzler

Punk Panther Dales Dazzler is a trail event based in Skipton that uses routes on the Pennine Way and the Dales Way. The course leaves Skipton, heads west to meet the Pennine Way near Pinhaw Beacon, passes Thornton in Craven, Gargrave and Malham Tarn, then goes via Arncliffe to join the Dales Way at Starbotton. The route continues through Kettlewell, Grassington and Burnsall to Barden Bridge before returning to Skipton via Embsay.

Climb figures are listed as approximately 1500, 2200, 4200 and 7600 feet respectively. ITRA points and UTMB eligibility are published per distance. The event has a minimum age of 18 and a maximum field of 200 entrants. Registration and toilets are located at St Andrew's Church, Newmarket Street, Skipton.

All ultramarathon entrants are supplied with trackers; half marathon and 20 mile entrants may hire a tracker for a fee. Trackers display position and include an emergency button that, when pressed in range, ends the runner's race. Checkpoints provide water, cola, energy bars, crisps and vegan and gluten free snacks. Drop bags are permitted for the 50 mile course and will be transferred to the Malham Tarn checkpoint.

A mandatory kit list applies to all distances and includes waterproof jacket with taped seams, survival/bivvy bag, whistle, hat, gloves, personal first aid kit, hard copy map/route description, cup, sufficient fluids and nutrition; a head torch is required for the 50 mile route. Random kit checks may be carried out and non-compliance can lead to disqualification. Finishers receive a medal and an event T-shirt unless they opt out. A three race series of 5 km canal towpath runs in Methley, Leeds that raises funds for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. The final meeting includes a 1.5 mile fun run with a school competition and medals for all.

A Wharfedale Harriers moorland race on Thursday 7 May 2026 covering about 7 miles and 1100 ft of ascent. Runners start at Barrier Car Park, touch the gate by Dick Hudsons Pub on the moor and return while choosing their own route.

Pinhaw is an 8 km fell race on 8 May 2026 near Earby in the South/West Pennines, climbing about 213 m. Entry is available both in advance and on the day with modest fees.
