Punk Panther Dales Dazzler

Punk Panther Dales Dazzler is a trail race based in Skipton. The route climbs to high ground around the town and offers extended views across Wharfedale. Courses use sections of the Pennine Way and the Dales Way and pass through places such as Pinhaw Beacon, Thornton in Craven, Gargrave, Malham Tarn, Arncliffe, Starbotton, Kettlewell, Grassington, Burnsall, Barden Bridge and Embsay.

Distances include:

  • 13 miles
  • 20 miles
  • 34 miles
  • 50 miles

Approximate climb for each course is 1500, 2200, 4200 and 7600 feet respectively. The event carries ITRA points and UTMB qualification status that vary by distance. The minimum age is 18 and the field is limited to 200 entrants.

Checkpoints provide water, cola, energy bars and crisps, plus vegan and gluten free snacks. All ultramarathon entrants receive a tracker; runners in shorter trail races can hire one. The tracker includes an emergency button that, if used, ends the runner's race and requires the runner to remain where they are.

A mandatory kit list applies to all distances and may include items such as a waterproof jacket, survival bag, whistle, hard copy of the route and personal first aid kit. Drop bags are permitted for the 50 mile course and finishers receive a medal and an event T shirt unless they opt out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
