A 28 mile run along the traffic free Brampton Valley Way, staged as a Leicestershire versus Northamptonshire contest with 100 places from each end. The route includes two dark tunnels, feed stations every 4.5 miles and a 7 hour cut off.

The Thoresby Park Longhorn Trail will take place in New Ollerton on Sunday 18 April 2027. You can run between 5 and 42 kilometers.

A multi-terrain marathon and half marathon on the traffic-free Tissington Trail in Derbyshire, using a former railway line between Ashbourne and Buxton. Includes route maps, a bespoke medal, free photos and prizes for leading runners.

Bat Challenge is an in person event by Big Bear Events at Beacon hill Country Park on 30 April 2027. Entry is listed at GBP 40 and the event is shown as available from 3 July 2026.

May 2027

A 33 mile trail race following much of the Chesterfield Round Walk through moorland, woodland, reservoirs and farmland. Route notes and GPX files are provided and checkpoints offer water with food at selected points.

Trail running in Castleton organised by Trails For Good with a finish area featuring local food and drink. The event supports local businesses and helps fund nature regeneration and trail repair through a partnership with the Peak District..

A weekend trail running festival at Deene Park Estate near Corby on 8 and 9 May 2027. It features three challenges from 10 km to 56.1 km, medals for finishers and a combined Quest option.

A single-loop trail ultra around Sherwood Forest with options of about 30.8 miles or 40.8 miles, marked and marshalled with on-course refreshments, a 10.5 hour cutoff, and limited canicross entries.

Shires and Spires is a multi-distance running event around Naseby in Northamptonshire featuring roads and trails, five distances from 10K to a 35 mile ultra, and a course that changes direction each year.

A 7.5 mile clockwise circuit around Carsington Reservoir with waterside views, a bespoke finisher medal and technical t shirt options; open to entrants aged 16 and over with an entry limit and specified online fees.

A chip timed half marathon through Sherwood Pines on 9 May 2027, run on traffic free forest trails with distance markers and water stations. Entries are limited and prizes include individual, age group and team awards.

A 50k ultra through Nottinghamshire villages that uses footpaths, bridleways, tracks and minor roads. The route starts and finishes at Milestone Brewery, includes checkpoints every 6 to 8 miles and post-race food and tap room access.

A Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Braunstone Park on 15 May 2027 combining grass and path with climbs, crawls and slides. Waves start every 15 minutes, participants must be 13 or older and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50.

A 5.8 miles Peak District fell race around Youlgrave with rough trails, climbs, a swamp and partial marking. Entry is £6 with limited places and proceeds support Youlgrave Parish Council.

A last-person-standing backyard ultra in the Lincolnshire Wolds: runners repeat a 4.167 mile off-road loop each hour with a bell, continuing until one runner completes a solo lap. Entry is limited to 100 competitors.
