Battle of the Brampton Valley Way
Market Harborough, United Kingdom • 12 Apr 2026
Event overview
The Battle of the Brampton Valley Way takes place on Sunday, 12 April 2026. The event uses the traffic-free Brampton Valley Way and covers two 14 mile sections for a total distance of 28 miles (45 km). One-way distance is 14 miles (22.5 km). The course has a total elevation gain of 280 m. Runners choose which end to start from and thus represent either Market Harborough / Leicestershire or Northampton / Northamptonshire; 100 places are available from each end. Entries are priced at £32 and the minimum age is 18 on race day. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. The race cut-off time is 7 hours.
Route, support and logistics
The surface is hard packed track suitable for road or trail shoes, with occasional puddles and a small ford. The route passes through two dark tunnels, one 294 m and the other 422 m, and runners must carry a head torch or small handheld torch. The event is cupless, so runners must bring their own cup or hydration vest. There will be feed stations approximately every 4.5 miles (four in total), toilets at both ends and at the 14 mile turnaround, and professional first aid at the start and finish with course access. Volunteers will manage road crossings, including a busier crossing at the A508. Timing mats at both ends will provide a halfway split. The race is not suitable for canicross and runners are asked to keep left. Parking is available at Boughton Car Park, Brampton Lane, Northampton (NN6 8AA) and Market Harborough Leisure Centre, Northampton Road (LE16 9HL). Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers and all finishers receive an event medal. Free digital race photos will be provided after the event. The event supports local foodbanks in Market Harborough and Northampton. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
