Dirty Day : special-edition running and obstacle event

Dirty Day is a special-edition obstacle event produced by Rat Race in partnership with Forest Facility. The event uses a purpose-built, extended 4 mile loop through the woods of Burghley Estate that incorporates around 60 obstacles, including classic features such as a large water jump, a lake swim and underground tunnels, plus larger structures like the Ewok village.

There are separate options and formats for different participants. Adults may choose single or multiple laps on the 4 mile loop; a family wave runs a shortened 1.5 mile lap that excludes the lake swim, big water jump and underground tunnels and is suitable for children aged six and up. The event uses a waved start format and the family wave starts separately. One retro-challenge option allows participants to attempt multiple laps within a six hour period to work towards a special retro medal.

Forest Facility will operate additional on-site activities during the day, including zip wires, axe throwing, archery, laser tag, mini tanks and family treasure hunts. Medical cover is provided with paramedics, doctors and a dedicated ambulance. Facilities include on-site parking (charged at 5 GBP per car), catering by a local food truck, hot drinks, composting and portable toilets, and a valuables drop for car keys and phones.
