Derby Derwent Trail Run : Elvaston Castle Country Park

The Derby Derwent Trail Run is an off road trail event held at The Showground, Elvaston Castle Country Park in Derby. The race starts and finishes within the parkland and passes through Victorian gardens, historic architecture and wide open green space.

The route runs across a mix of woodland trails, open parkland and riverside paths, including extended sections alongside the River Derwent. Terrain is predominantly trail and grass with some firm footpaths, providing natural variation from tree lined avenues to open stretches.

The course is fully signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape. Hazards and road junctions are marked with Caution signs. Supportive marshals are positioned on course and first aid is provided at on course aid stations. Water stations are available and entries include chip timing, a finisher medal and a personalised certificate.

Practical details for participants include on arrival bib collection at Registration with QR code, a plastic free approach requiring a reusable cup or bottle at water stations, and clear bib display on the front. A six-hour off-road challenge at Beacon Hill Country Park on a 3.3 mile loop. Participants complete as many laps as they wish within the time limit; a head torch is required for laps started after 7pm.

Trail ultra in Sherwood Forest offering 30 mile and 40 mile loops that pass Thoresby Estate, Creswell Crags and Welbeck Estate. The course is fully marked, has aid stations and provides finisher medals.
