Dukeries 30 / 40 : event overview

The Dukeries 30 / 40 is a one-lap, way-marked trail event held on Saturday 9 May 2026 from Walesby, Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG22 9PF). Distances offered are:

  • 30 Miles
  • 40 Miles

Entry requirements and limits: minimum age 20, maximum field 250 runners. The event is for runners only; walking entrants with no intention of making the cut-off are not permitted. Canicross is allowed but limited to 20 entrants. Pacers and drop bags are not permitted. Entries close three weeks before the event or earlier if full.

Entry fees are shown as £46 for the 30 and £53 for the 40. A 10.5 hour overall cut-off applies; enforcement takes place at the A614 aid station where competitors must be able to complete the final 7 miles within the remaining time.

Course, aid and logistics

Both routes form a clockwise circular loop starting and finishing at Walesby Sports & Social Club and use forest trails, minor roads and footpaths. The route passes through Sherwood Forest, Creswell Crags, skims the Welbeck estate, crosses Clumber Park and passes the Thoresby area. The 40 mile route includes an additional section through the forest that passes The Major Oak.

The event is fully marked with tape and arrows and marshals are positioned at aid stations. First aid medics will be present. Aid stations (approximate mile positions) for the 30 show stops at Hazel Gap (6), Creswell Crags (13), A614 (24) and finish (30.8). For the 40 the stops are Hazel Gap (6 and 16), Creswell Crags (23), A614 (34) and finish (40.8). Toilets will be at headquarters and possibly on route. Drinks are provided at the start area; finish refreshments include hot soup, tea and coffee. All HOBO Pace event food is fully vegan. Route maps and GPX files are provided by the organiser.
