The 40-mile route includes an additional forest section that passes The Major Oak. The route distances are listed as approximately 30.8 miles and 40.8 miles.
Aid stations are provided at regular intervals (examples: Hazel Gap, Cresswell Crags, A614) and the only enforced cut-off is 10.5 hours at the A614 aid station; competitors must stop there if there is insufficient time to complete the remaining 7 miles within that limit. The course is marked with tape and arrows, marshals and first-aid medics will be present. Toilets will be available at the headquarters and possibly on route. Drinks at the start area will include water and squash; finish provisions include hot soup, tea and coffee. All event food is vegan. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
