The festival comprises three separate challenges that can be entered individually or together as the Quest. The events use a mix of short loops and longer trail formats and take place across varied terrain.

  • 25k Trail Mix Challenge: five 5 km loops, one each hour
  • 10k Headlight Hop: evening trail 10 km
  • 21.1k Thump Trail Half: trail half marathon with hills and woodland
  • 56.1k Quest for the Golden Carrot: complete all three challenges

Medals are awarded to finishers in each challenge. Entry fees listed for the events are £45 for the Trail Mix Challenge, £25 for the Headlight Hop, £30 for the Thump Trail Half, and £80 for entry to all three as the Quest.

The routes include a variety of surfaces, scenery and undulations, with hills and woodland sections described for the half marathon. The festival also provides festival activities and informal meeting spaces for participants.
