Thoresby Park Longhorn Trail Event 2027
The Longhorn Trail Event takes place on 18 April 2027 at Thoresby Park, Newark, NG22 9EP. The estate covers over 1,000 acres and includes a 17th century mansion, a notable art collection, and wildlife such as wild deer and long horned cattle.
Event distances cover a wide range and include age guidance:
- Family 2km suitable for ages 5 plus (no canicross)
- 5km suitable for ages 11 plus
- 10km suitable for ages 15 plus
- Half Marathon suitable for ages 17 plus
- Marathon suitable for ages 21 plus
Route maps are listed as to be confirmed. The estate is described as fairly flat, and the 5km and 10km routes are noted as appropriate for first time trail runners or those stepping up from Parkrun.
Canicross is allowed on all distances except the Family 2km. Runners may take up to one dog on a lead or in a harness, and canicross participants have separate start times. Nordic walkers are welcome on any of the trail distances.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. On-site parking is in the Event Field rather than the main car park and carries a £3 charge per vehicle. All finishers receive Wild Deer merchandise, an event medal, and a snack and drink. A bespoke event T shirt is available for £14.00. Accommodation options listed include Clumber Park Hotel and Spa.
