Thoresby Park Longhorn Trail takes place on 18 April 2026 at Thoresby Park, Newark. The event is set within over 1,000 acres of parkland that includes a 17th century mansion, an art collection, and visible wildlife such as wild deer and long-horned cattle.

Routes are offered for a range of participants and ages:

  • Family 2 km (suitable for ages 5+, no canicross)
  • 5 km (suitable for ages 11+)
  • 10 km (suitable for ages 15+)
  • Half Marathon (suitable for ages 17+)

The estate is described as fairly flat, and the 5 km and 10 km routes are noted as appropriate for first-time trail runners or those stepping up from Parkrun. Route maps are provided for most distances; the 2 km route is to be confirmed.

The event is canicross friendly except for the 2 km family route. Runners may be accompanied by up to two controlled dogs and canicross participants have a separate start time. Nordic walkers may join any trail distance.

Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive Wild Deer merchandise, an event medal, and a snack. An optional bespoke event T-shirt can be added for £12. On-site parking is available for £3 per vehicle. Accommodation information names Clumber Park Hotel and Spa nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
