A nighttime outdoor event on January 16, 2026, retracing a 1592 escape from Dublin Castle. It features a long Challenge to Glenmalure and a 25 km Pursuit to Kippure, each limited to 200 places and supported by mountain rescue.

Take on the Sugarloaf Winter Fell Race from Kilmacanogue GAA in County Wicklow, an 8.60 km route with 417 m of climb and great views over Bray. A 4.00 km junior course is available and winter fell rules and kit apply.

Take on the Howth Winter Race in County Dublin, a scenic, fully marked trail with a challenging 7.35 km main and 4.85 km short option. Part of the Winter League Leinster, expect climbs, marshals and a lively prizegiving.

February 2026

Ras Na hEireann 2026 is a long standing cross country meeting in Lawlesstown, Dunleer on 8 February, featuring multiple juvenile and senior races, club team competition, and awards for top individuals and teams.

Donadea 50k is the 16th Irish National Championship ultramarathon at Donadea Forest Park, County Kildare on 14 February 2026. Hosted by Donadea Running Club, entries included standard and club member rates and late entry arrangements.

Join the final Run Forest Run Winter Series at Castlewellan Forest Park on Saturday 28 February 2026 for scenic off road 5K and 10K races around the lakeside castle. Enjoy chip timing, a finisher medal and stunning Mourne Mountain views.

A new 10K trail run on the Cooley Peninsula at McCrystals Track in Jenkinstown, featuring forest trails, steady climbs, runnable sections and 240 m of elevation. Finishers receive a unique medal and on site parking is available.

March 2026

Join the Ulster Championship at Slieve Gullion, County Armagh on 7 March 2026 for a testing 6.3 km mountain run with 320 m climb, organised by NIMRA. Expect rugged terrain and mandatory Level B safety kit.

Run Maulin under the stars in a 7.4 km night mountain race in Wicklow with 407 m of climb and scenic descents. The route is fully marked; a torch and standard safety kit are required, with prizegiving at the finish.

Take on the Pat Dunbar Memorial, a 13 km NIMRA challenge through the scenic Mournes in County Down. Expect moderate terrain and limited course markings for a true mountain running adventure with prizegiving at Carrick Little.

April 2026

Tackle the scenic Bray Head trail with a challenging 7.3 km route climbing 366 m across rugged headlands and sweeping coastal views. Junior runners can enjoy a 3.5 km loop with prize giving and a post race BBQ at the Martello Bar.

Take on a 6.6 km mountain run at Tollymore on 23 April 2026 with 350 m of ascent and only major junctions marked. GPS is not allowed and Level B safety kit is compulsory, so come prepared for classic mountain terrain.

Tackle the Annalong Horseshoe in County Down on 25 April with 21.1 km and 8.5 km options, 1700 m of climb across rugged hills. GPS devices are banned and mandatory safety kit is required, so come prepared for a classic mountain run.

Challenging Tibradden trail race in County Dublin on 29 April 2026 features a scenic 9.9 km course with 365 m of climb. Part of the Leinster League, the event rewards navigation and hill legs and requires mandatory kit.

Tackle Slieve Martin in County Down on Thursday 30 April 2026, a compact 7.00 km route with 550 m of climb for a steep, scenic challenge. Mandatory kit and no GPS ensure a classic fell experience, and volunteers are warmly welcome.

May 2026

Tackle Binnian Uphill in County Down on 7 May 2026: a short but savage 3.7 km climb gaining 570 m of ascent. Mandatory Level B kit is required, route has limited markings and GPS devices are not permitted, so come prepared.

Rocky is a mountain run in County Down on 14 May 2026, 6 km with 450 m of climb over minimally marked terrain. GPS is not allowed and runners must carry mandatory safety kit such as a waterproof jacket, whistle and charged phone.

Enjoy rolling hills, a beach section and a Parkrun finish hill at the Ardgillan IMRA Trail League race in Ardgillan Demesne, County Dublin on Wednesday 20 May 2026. About 9 km on a marked route with a junior 5 km option.

Join Luke's in County Down on Thursday 21 May 2026 for a challenging 7.3 km course with 450 m of ascent across marked junctions. Level B kit is mandatory so bring a waterproof, hat, gloves, whistle, charged phone and a foil blanket.

The Cooley Half will take place in Cooley-Halbinsel on Saturday 23 May 2026. You can run 22 kilometers.
