Melbourne Spartan Event Weekend at Werribee Racecourse offers a 5 km sprint with 20 obstacles and a 10 km super with 25 obstacles, plus a kids race and a 4 hour Hurricane Heat. The course is described as fast and flat with unique obstacles.

A September running festival around Emerald Lake Park with a point to point 13.5 km Classic from Belgrave plus 5 km and 1.2 km events. The festival runs against Puffing Billy trains and raises funds for heritage restoration.

On September 13, 2026 the Kieser Maribyrnong River Run at Footscray Park offers a Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km run walk along the Maribyrnong River. All finishers receive a medal and the event raises funds for The Smith Family.

A community ultratrail at Rokeby Recreation Reserve supporting Aus Hair of the Dog Rescue, with distances from 2 km to 50 km, dog friendly rules, adaptive categories and on course aid stations to support runners and dogs.
