Macedon Trail Run is part of the Trailsplus Mountain Trail Series (Race 2 in the series). The event is scheduled for Sunday 4 October 2026 at Mt Macedon. It features multiple race distances:

  • 50 km

The courses run on scenic mountain trails with ascents and descents. Trails can be blanketed in fog, which may reduce visibility.

Course and facilities

The start and finish are located at the BBQ area next to the carpark at the top of the mountain. The location is within the Macedon Ranges, adjacent to Macedon Regional Park. Viewing platforms referenced in event materials include the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross and the Camels Hump.

Course materials include downloadable PDF maps and GPX/CRS files for each distance. New maps were produced for 2025 while works were being done on some trails. A shuttle bus map and other course-specific maps are also listed.

Fees and community support

2025 entry fees are tiered (super special, early bird, standard, late) and include GST; Humanitix booking fees are added at checkout. On-day registration is available at higher prices. Trailsplus donates $1 per participant to Canteen. In 2024 the event had 311 competitors and a total donation of $382 was reported; Trailsplus has donated over $80,000 to Canteen to date.
