Maribyrnong River Run : Event overview
The Maribyrnong River Run is scheduled for Sunday 13 September 2026 (to be confirmed) with start and finish at Footscray Park, Footscray. The half marathon is run over two laps with an additional 1.1 km loop. All finishers receive a finisher medal and can print a personalised event certificate after the race showing name, distance, overall position, age group position and official finishing time. Personalised race bibs are available for participants who register before the stated cut-off; a bib postage option is offered for earlier registrants for a fee.

Race details and facilities
All events are electronically chip timed and results are published quickly after crossing the finish. Trophies are awarded to winners in each distance; age group winners and place getters receive gold, silver and bronze medals. All age group and overall prize placings are calculated on gun time.
Drink stations are located on course at approximately every 2.5-3 km and water is provided at the finish. The course uses asphalt paths and is pram- and wheelchair-friendly. The 5 km event is open to walkers; the longer distances are intended for run/jog participants able to finish within event cut-offs. An event village includes stalls and food. Parking is limited and Footscray Train Station is within about 750 m. Public liability insurance is in place but does not cover individual medical or rescue costs; ambulance cover is recommended. Pets may attend as spectators on a lead but are not permitted on course. Ipods and headphones are permitted at a safe volume. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
