The Last Legend

Greenvale, Australia • 13 Dec 2026

Event Overview

The Last Legend is a trail running event held at Woodlands Park in Greenvale, located in Melbourne's north-west. The course is situated on the home grounds of Living Legends, a site dedicated to retired champion racehorses. Participants are encouraged to wear festive red and white running gear to coincide with the Christmas season.

Course and Format

The event features a 2.5 km loop. The format is based on a diminishing time schedule where runners must complete the loop within a specific timeframe and be ready to start again for the next lap. Participants can choose to enter for a specific distance or take part in the unlimited lap challenge. The "Last Legend" prize is awarded to the final runner remaining in the unlimited lap category.

Distances

Athletes can select from several distance challenges:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • 25 km
  • 42 km
  • Unlimited laps (All the Way)

Logistics and Charity

Bib collection takes place on the morning of the race at the event site; materials are not sent by mail. Registration can be completed online or on-location on the day of the event. The event supports charitable causes, with a portion of every registration fee donated to Canteen, an organization for young people living with cancer, and additional funds raised for the Living Legends horses.
