Course, schedule and charity

The event uses a main 5km loop. Course maps are supplied, including PDFs for the 5km loop and first laps for the 21.1 km and 42.2 km courses with small additional distances (extra 1.1 km and extra 2.2 km respectively). The format is part of a series that introduces participants to night running; the 5km loop is run under headtorch support. Shorter distances are completed before sunset, while the 21 km, 42 km and 50 km extend into the night.

Trailsplus donates $1 per participant to Canteen, the Australian organisation for young people living with cancer. By 2024 Trailsplus had donated over $80,000 in total. In 2024 the event had 242 competitors; online runner donations that year were $44, with the organiser topping the total donation to $300.
