Trailsplus - Maribyrnong Valley Park Backyard Ultra

Keilor, Australia • 5-8 Feb 2027

Maribyrnong Valley Park Backyard Ultra

This event uses the backyard ultra format: participants complete a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, and continue until only one runner completes a lap alone. All participants who complete each hourly lap are recorded as tied for first place at that moment. The format emphasizes pacing and time management rather than speed.

The event runs across multiple days in early February 2027 at Brimbank Park, Keilor VIC. Course maps and an event guide are provided. Entry options include limited-lap choices as well as an open unlimited option; the limited options are referred to as Yards and correspond to set distances. Fees for 2026 are published and include GST, with additional booking fees added at checkout. Registration windows are named Super Special, Early, Standard, and Late, each with different prices.

Distances and common race options:

  • 6.7 km loop completed each hour
  • 4 Yards (25 km)
  • 7 Yards (42 km)
  • 15 Yards (100 km)
  • Open entry with unlimited laps

Trailsplus donates $1 per participant to Canteen, the Australian organisation for young people living with cancer. Trailsplus reports total donations exceeding $80,000 and notes that the 2025 event had 180 competitors and a combined $250 donation that year.
