Rip to River

The Rip to River is a 10 km surf beach run from "The Rip" at Point Lonsdale to Ocean Grove by the Barwon River. The course follows hard sand along the shoreline from the Point Lonsdale lighthouse to the main beach at Ocean Grove.

The event is held early every summer and is the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club's single biggest fundraiser. Each year the event welcomes approximately 1,000 runners along the beach track. The listed event date is Monday 28th December, 2026 and registrations open in Oct 26.

Adventure Park is named as a major sponsor of the Rip to River. The organiser provides images and historical event photos that indicate the run has been held across multiple years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
