The event is the You Yangs Trail Running Festival. It is the second race in the five-race Trailsplus Mountain Trail series. The year 2020 was the 12th annual edition of the festival at this location.

Race Distances and Schedule

Races are held over two days in July.

  • Distances on Saturday: 21 km, 42 km, 100 km, and 100 miles.
  • Distances on Sunday: 5 km, 15 km, 30 km, and 50 km.

The Course

The course is set in the You Yangs park. It features varied terrain, including flat wooded bike trails and open rocky mountain trails. The course takes a series of loops from the main carpark out into different areas of the park, returning to the carpark each time. There are views from Flinders Peak across Port Phillip Bay, accessed after a steep ascent.
