Trail Running calendar near Marple 2026-2027

A multi terrain fell race at Gargrave Show with river crossings, woodland, open moor and a steep ascent of Sharphaw. Events run for juniors through seniors; race entry is free while show admission is charged.

A scenic circular *30 km* fell race on footpaths, bridleways and public roads that passes ancient Roman roads, farmland and woodland. The route is open to walkers and runners and all finishers receive a medal and memento.

A multi distance trail event in central Preston around Avenham Park and the River Ribble, offering 10 km, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra options. The course uses hard paths, includes aid stations and a bespoke finisher medal.

A 7-mile undulating multi-terrain trail race in Leeds on 23 August 2026, organised by Valley Striders AC, running through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park with fundraising for St Gemma's Hospice.

Rumble In The Jumble V is a six hour challenge in Penistone with out-and-back laps along an old railway line, offering distances from 5K to ultra. Aid stations, a choice of medals and a goody bag are provided.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

A one lap trail and road race of approximately 10K at National Trust Lyme in Disley with 272 metres of ascent, full course marshals and marking, free park admission and food vendors at the Timber Yard. Entry options from £28.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

A midweek fell race near Bury covering about 6.5 km with 400 m of climb, held at the Hare & Hounds. The event allows teams, requires a minimum age of 16, and has a 1 hour 10 minute cutoff at Moorbottom Road.

A pop up evening running event in Kirkstall, Leeds offering 5k and 10k routes along canal-side paths. Entry is available on the night or online and runners receive a jumble medal plus food and drink options.

A non stop 130 mile canal towpath race from Liverpool to Leeds run under UK Athletics rules. Open to runners aged 20 and over, the event has a 40 hour limit and a limited number of unsupported entries with regular feed points.

Tackle a classic Pennines fell race in Pendleton on 29 August 2026. The 8 km course packs 457 m of ascent across rough terrain, with on the day entries and homemade cakes and a cosy village pub to reward you.

Tackle the Tripsdale Trot on 29 August 2026 at the Bilsdale Show in Chop Gate. This 5.5 mile fell race through the North York Moors climbs 1437 ft and has a junior fun race alongside. Entry is on the day.

A trail event from Skipton across Pennine and Dales Way terrain offering 13, 20, 34 and 50 mile courses with checkpoints, trackers for ultras, mandatory safety kit and recorded climb and ranking points.

Nottingham Running Festival at Nottingham Racecourse in Colwick Country Park features a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and junior race, supports Nottinghamshire Hospice, and includes medals, free photos, chip timed results and an event village.

A 9 mile fell race with about 2,800 ft of ascent visiting Tal y Fan and Moel Lus, featuring five ordered checkpoints and a cut off at CP2. Entry is limited to 100 and online registration opens 1/6/26.

A fell race at Powder House Field near Hebden on 31 August 2026 covering 1.50 miles 3.20 km with about 400 feet 244 meters of climb, featuring a steep ascent, top running and an uphill finish.

A short fell race at the Reeth Show on 31 August 2026 that climbs to Fremington Edge and returns across quarry workings and fields. Categories run from Under 9 to Seniors and it counts as a BOFRA championship counter.

Join the Dark Side Of The Combe on Mon 31 Aug 2026 in the Lake District as part of the Black Combe Country Fair at Bootle. This 12.5 km fell race with 625 m ascent is a tough, scenic test and has on the day entry.
