Blakey Blitz on 14 March 2026 is a tough 16.8 km moorland race near Whitby with 855 m of climb and sweeping North York Moors views. Fast, scenic and ideal for experienced fell runners looking for a proper challenge.

Take on the scenic Chicken Run in Hayfield, Peak District, with two route options over challenging fell terrain. Friendly community vibe, cakes and refreshments at the school, and proceeds support Hayfield Primary School.

Scenic trail races at Leighton Hall include a flowing 10k through farmland and reedbeds and a 21k half marathon with estuary and Lake District views. Earlybird places are limited and dogs are not permitted.

The Hayfield Chicken Run is a fell race on 14 March 2026, starting from Hayfield Primary School. The main route covers 8.6 miles with 1480 feet of ascent, while a shorter 10 km option is also available. Entry is open to runners 18 and over.

A multiple-distance forest race at Sherwood Pines on 15 March 2026, with 20 miles, a half marathon, a 10k and a junior run. The undulating multi terrain course offers route maps, bespoke medals, free photos and prizes.

A 6.5 mile fell race from Marsden Cricket Club featuring 260 m of ascent, sections of the Pennine Way and Standedge Trail and boggy moorland underfoot. The route has stream crossings and may require full FRA kit.

A chip timed 5 mile community trail run in Bolton on 15 March 2026 with a 300 runner limit and entry from £15. The event is organised by Burnden Road Runners and held at Smithills Sports Centre.

A three hour score mountain marathon from the Crooked Billet in Worsthorne on 15 March 2026, run over rough moorland. Solo or pair running is allowed with individual entry and full FRA kit required.

An approximately 10 km, mainly off road trail race around Mellor and the River Goyt valley with about 300 m of ascent. The well waymarked course uses chip timing, includes marshals and a finisher memento, and is for runners aged 16 and over..

A 20 mile trail run or hike starting from Burrs Country Park that links six historic Bury villages. The event includes checkpoints, a finisher neck gaiter and requires specified self-sufficiency kit and navigation gear.

A 55 mile ultramarathon on 21 March 2026 from Guisborough to Helmsley across the North York Moors and Cleveland Hills, with about 2,300 m ascent, a 16 hour limit, compulsory tracker and strict mandatory kit checks.

A 14 km Category BM fell race on Chevin with about 650 metres of ascent. The partly flagged route starts and finishes on Station Road, uses a provided map and passes checkpoints including Surprise View, Danefield and Fells Plantation.

Trail marathon and 20 mile races from North Wingfield on an anti-clockwise circular route through tracks, fields and woodland. The course is lightly marked, has checkpoints with food and drinks, GPX files, medals, prizes and medic cover.

A Category BS fell race on the Chevin near Otley, run as a single hilly lap of roughly 9–10 km with about 390–400 m of ascent; limited facilities are provided and entries are available in advance or on the day.

A 10.9 km fell race with about 610 m of climb in the South/West Pennines near Portsmouth village. The flagged route has steep rough climbs and descents and requires full FRA kit.

A non-profit 10 mile race at Delph Cricket Club on 21 March 2026, offered as a run or a weighted TAB with 35 lb pack; the course includes 1447 ft of climb and proceeds support the Royal Marines Charity and the Firefighters Charity.
