Half Howler 2026 - 5 km adventure run

The Half Howler is a 5 km adventure run and obstacle course held in Holme Village, on the edge of the Lake District. It forms part of the village Festival of Sport weekend on Saturday 11 July 2026. The course crosses roads, fields and canal paths and includes obstacles such as cargo nets, walls, monkey bars and a water slide. The event uses a Fantasy theme for 2026.

Entry is open to participants aged 12 years and older. The event has a maximum of 200 entrants and entries close on 10 July 2026; transfers close on 7 July 2026. Standard fees are listed for single adult and junior entries. There is a group offer that reduces the price of a third entry when three entries are purchased together.

The weekend programme also includes the original 10 km Holme Howler, a Mini Howler fun run for younger participants, a village fete with stalls, games and food and drink, a 5 a side football tournament and an after party at The Smithy Inn. On the Sunday the Festival of Sport continues with a BBQ and sports day style competitions at Holme Cricket Club.

Weekend 9 is a waymarked 25 km trail event in the Howgill Fells with about 1500 m of ascent. It offers loaded, runner and walker categories, staffed checkpoints and a downloadable GPX file for navigation.

A traditional fell race of 6.74 miles (10.8 km) with 412 m ascent around Hutton Roof Crags and Farleton Knott, requiring navigation, three checkpoints and a 2h15 time limit under FRA rules; junior races and a country fair accompany the even..

A free, annual ANDYSMANCLUB gathering on 23 May 2026 to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks from Holme Farm Campsite. Rapid Relief Team will provide drinks and a hot breakfast after the first peak; camping and parking are available on site.

MacTuffX Blackburn at Witton Park blends ten functional Xercises with repeated running in solo, doubles or relay formats. Multiple distance options and a LITE weight division are offered for adults aged 18 and above.
