Jane Tomlinson Canal Race Series RACE 3

This is the third race in a three race series of measured 5 kilometre races held on a flat canal towpath along the Aire and Calder Navigation near Methley, Leeds. The series is organised by Rothwell Harriers AC to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and has been established for nearly 20 years. The course is marshaled and measured, and is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Race 3 specifics note a single lap trail course of 5 kilometres, an entry limit of 500 and 304 places remaining at the time of listing. A race licence has been applied for. Prizes are awarded for all age categories for individual races and for the series; t shirts are provided only to those who complete the full series. The final race in July includes a 1.5 mile fun run, medals for all finishers on that night, a BBQ, raffle and a cake competition.

Facilities at Race HQ, the Commercial Pub on Main Street, Methley, include toilets, changing facilities and baggage storage. There are no on-course water stations, distance markers or showers. A 23 mile single-lap trail from Guiseley across Rombalds Moor and Ilkley Moor via Ilkley and Otley Chevin. The hilly, moorland course has water stations, limited facilities and an entry limit of 550 which is currently reached.

A long BL fell race around Wadsworth with navigational sections and mandatory FRA kit. The route is about 19.3 miles (31 km) with 1110 m ascent. Pre entry closes 6 February 2026 and very limited places may be available on the day.
