Jane Tomlinson Canal Fun Run

The Jane Tomlinson Canal Fun Run is a 1.5 mile trail event held in Methley, Leeds. Organized by the Rothwell Harriers AC, this race has been established for nearly 20 years and raises funds for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. The course consists of a single flat lap along the canal towpath, crossing over two bridges.

The event is open to participants of any age and is monitored by marshals from the local running club. While the race is a trail type course, it is confirmed as not suitable for wheelchair users. The race headquarters are located at the Commercial Pub on Main Street in Methley, which provides toilet and changing facilities for participants. The race start is located approximately a five-minute walk from the headquarters.

Participants can expect the following amenities and features:

All finishers receive a medal, water, and chocolate. The event includes a school competition where the finishing positions of the first two boys and first two girls from a school count towards a winning shield. Prizes are awarded for individuals in all age categories. On the date of the final race in the series, additional activities are held at the race headquarters beer garden, including a raffle, BBQ, and a cake competition.
