Thurlstone Chase

Thurlstone Chase is a category BS fell race held on Thursday 9 July 2026 at Thurlstone Gala/Football Field in South Yorkshire. The event is organised by Penistone Footpath Runners and lists the Gala/Football Field as race HQ.

The course is 6.4 Kilometres, classified as fell running with an undulating profile and run as a single lap. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs. The organiser provides a route map. Facilities at the race are minimal: there is no water, no distance markers, no toilets, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage at the venue.

Entry fees are £6.00 for both affiliated and unaffiliated entrants. If the event does not sell out, entry on the day is available at no additional charge. Prizes are awarded to the first three men and the first three women regardless of age, then to first finishers in five-year age categories starting at MV40 and FV40. A hilly five mile trail and fell race from Rainow on the edge of the Peak District, taking in White Nancy and the Kerridge ridge. The event is pre-entry only, serves teas and cakes after the race, and donates proceeds to local charities.

An evening popup running event in Kirkstall, Leeds offering 5k and 10k races with on the evening registration, a jumble medal and a soft drink for all runners.

A Wharfedale Harriers moorland race on Thursday 7 May 2026 covering about 7 miles and 1100 ft of ascent. Runners start at Barrier Car Park, touch the gate by Dick Hudsons Pub on the moor and return while choosing their own route.

A trail race of 33 miles following much of the Chesterfield Round Walk across moorland, woodland, reservoirs and farmland. The course is largely unmarked and comes with GPX route notes, staffed checkpoints and medical cover.
