Trail Running calendar near Chideock 2026-2027

Three fell races around Ventnor on the Isle of Wight offer routes from 3.8 km to 21 km with notable ascent. The series follows FRA rules, has entry limits and also serves as the SEAA Fell Running Championships.

Ventnor Horseshoe on Sat 12 Sep 2026 offers a scenic but testing 12 km fell course around Ventnor with 443 m of climb. Part of the Isle of Wight Fell Series, it is perfect for runners seeking a tough coastal hill challenge.

Start the IOW Fell Running Series with St Boniface Fell in Ventnor on Sat 12 Sep 2026, a punchy 3.9 km race with 235 m of climbing across scenic Isle of Wight terrain. Pre entry or on the day entries welcome.

Run as far as you like at Alice in Runderland, a timed multi lap event at Parc Taf Bargoed with flexible start times and on course support. Choose from one lap up to marathon and earn a bespoke finisher medal.

A short fell race on Dartmoor of just under 5 km with 276 m ascent, starting and finishing at Sourton Village Hall. Junior races are available with marked short routes and low entry fees.

Experience the rugged beauty of the Dorset coastline with trail races ranging from 10k to a 50k ultra. Run through the historic Lulworth Castle Estate featuring scenic climbs and coastal views.

A multi-terrain running event at the Flete Estate organised by Ivybridge Rotary Club, featuring 10K, 5K and 1K races, with marshalled routes, medical cover and finishers' awards for each distance.

Tackle the Wroxall Round on 13 September 2026, a scenic 21.1 km fell run around Ventnor with about 487 m of ascent. Open to adults, with on the day entries and team places, this is race 3 of the Isle of Wight Fell Running Series.

An eight miles town to tide charity run from Barnstaple Pannier Market to Crow Point with a one mile children's fun run and an event village. Funds raised support Families in Grief's 20 Years of Hope campaign.

A 10 km multiterrain race at Woodland Fort in Crownhill, Plymouth on 13 September 2026. The two-lap route runs through Woodland Woods and quiet roads and finishes at an event village with refreshments and commemorative medals.

A 6k forest run near Moreton, Dorset, over woodland paths with the final kilometre on a quiet country road. Open to runners aged 14 and over; entry fees are £11 or £9 for affiliated runners and proceeds support local charities.

A 10 km fell race at Seatown and Chideock Hill on 13 September 2026 with about 570 m of climb. Entry is available beforehand or on the day for a £20 fee and the minimum age is 18.

A 12 km canitrail and trail run at Halo Ogmore Valley Life Centre in Ogmore Vale on 13 September 2026, held in aid of PAPYRUS. Participants may take part with dogs; tickets are listed at £26 and refunds are not offered.

A roughly 10 km multi-terrain run around Crediton, mostly off road on footpaths, fields and quiet lanes. The course is signposted, offers water at 5 km and the finish, and includes medals, goody bags and category prizes.

A 12 hour Backyard Ultra on a 4.2 mile loop near Crickhowell in the Black Mountains. The final lap is run in reverse as a sprint to decide male and female winners; medals are awarded for 32 miles or more.

A community event tracing the River Exe from Exmouth to Dulverton, offering a 43 mile ultra and a non-competitive relay in shorter sections. The run raises awareness of the Exe salmon’s decline and includes local music and ceremonial moment..

A 23 mile trail event on the Quantock Hills where runners compete alongside horses, with an additional Pegasus Challenge 4 person relay. The event is in Over Stowey and organised by Equi-Librium Coaching and Therapy CIC.
