Multi-Terrain Racing at the Flete Estate

The Flete 10K and Family Fun Run is organized by the Ivybridge Rotary Club. The event takes place on the private Flete Estate, which is not normally accessible to the general public. The course features a multi-terrain layout that includes tracks through open fields, shaded woodland footpaths along the River Erme, and a section through Holbeton village.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

  • 10 km
  • 5 km
  • 1 km

The 10 km route follows blue markers and is open to runners aged 15 and over. It is licensed by England Athletics, with officials recording finishing times. The 5 km course follows yellow markers and is open to participants aged 9 and older, though those between 9 and 11 must be accompanied by an adult. The 1 km fun run is designed for all ages and consists of two laps around a fenced cricket pitch.

The event headquarters is located at the Holbeton Cricket Club Pavilion. On-site facilities include refreshments for purchase, portable toilets, and information tents. Water stations for the 10 km race are positioned at the 4 km and 7 km marks. Parking is available on-site at the Flete Estate, accessible via the A379 or A38. Standard UK Athletics rules apply, and the use of in-ear or over-ear headphones is prohibited, while bone-conducting headphones are permitted.
