Plymouth Pretty Muddy 5k - Race for Life

Plymouth Pretty Muddy is a 5 km obstacle course event held on Sunday 19 July 2026 at Central Park, Plymouth, PL2 3DQ. The course includes climbs, crawls and slides and runs over a mixture of hardstanding, fine gravel pathway and mostly grass, which can be thick underfoot. The start area is on hardstanding and the finish is on the grass event site adjacent to the hedgeline of the football field.

Participation is for people aged 13 years and older; a separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme exists for younger children. Event waves are staggered every 15 minutes to manage participants on the course. A minimum fundraising target of £50 applies. Prices listed are Adults £22.49 and Children £12.00.

Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets and parking. Dogs are not allowed. Bag drop and showers are not available. The event is not suitable for pushchairs and is not wheelchair accessible. Sunflower wristbands and British Sign Language stage content via QR code are provided for accessibility support.

Travel options include Milehouse Park and Ride car park about 150 m from the start, Blue Badge parking at Milehouse, public electric charging points at Milehouse (Pod Point), local bus stops near Milehouse and a paved walking route from Plymouth Railway Station of about 20 minutes that includes a steep hill. Trail runs nearby

A traditional fell race from Belstone Village to Cosdon Beacon and back, about 3.1 miles with roughly 300 m climb over rough open terrain. Junior races use shorter distances and under 14s race separately.

A weekend trail festival at Newnham Park (10–12 July 2026) offering 12, 24 and 36 hour timed events for solo, pairs or teams, plus a kids race, on-site camping, vendors and medals for finishers.

A new 100 mile team relay in South Devon on 19 July 2026, split into 16 legs from 5 km to just under 16 km. Teams of 10 to 16 runners compete for awards while the event raises funds for two local charities.

An informal Dartmoor trail run from Castle Drogo around the Teign Valley on 19 July 2026. About *11 ish* on good tracks at a social pace, with paid National Trust parking and a recommendation to wear trail shoes.
