South Hams Relay

The South Hams Relay is a team relay event covering a distance of 100 miles through the scenery of South Devon. Starting from Borough Park in Totnes, the course is divided into 16 individual legs. These legs range in length from 5 km to approximately 16 km, incorporating a mix of countryside roads, coastal views, and rolling terrain.

The event is designed for teams consisting of 10 to 16 runners. To manage the flow of the event across the course, the organizers utilize staggered start times based on the estimated pace of each team. Participants are provided with GPX files for all route sections to assist with navigation.

  • 100 mile team relay consisting of 16 legs between 5 km and 16 km.

Awards are presented in several categories, including the fastest all-female, all-male, and mixed teams. Additionally, an award is given to the team that finishes closest to their estimated completion time. Registration is open to individuals aged 18 or older, and every runner receives a goody bag. The event operates on a non-profit basis, with proceeds donated to the South West Coastal Path and the Can-Active Programme. Local clubs are given priority entry for this relay.
