The Sourton Tors Fell Race takes place near Sourton Village Hall in Okehampton, Devon, England. The senior race is classified as an AS fell race. A junior race takes place before the senior event.

Race Course

The senior race covers a distance of 5.3 km (3.3 miles) with a total climb of 276 m (906 ft). Separate junior races for participants under 13 are offered, with distances of 2 km for under-11s and 3 km for under-13s. Both junior distances run up a hill and back on a marked route.

Registration & Fees

Entry is available both before the day and on the day of the race.

  • Pre-entry fee: £7.00 for members, £7.50 for non-members.
  • On-the-day entry fee: £8.00 for members, £10.00 for non-members.

Participants are asked to bring cash for on-the-day entry and for refreshments available after the race.

Participation

The senior race has a minimum age of 16. The event is held under the rules of the Fell Runners Association. Prizes are awarded for the first male and female finishers and for age categories. Team entries are not allowed. The race has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA.

Getting There
