Trail Running calendar near Saint John's Town of Dalry 2026-2027

A long-distance trail ultra event offering 100-mile and 50-mile distances on some of the UK's finest national trails. The scenic routes feature well-stocked checkpoints and include a GPS tracker, finisher's medal, and food at the finish.

A BOFRA fell race at Wasdale Head in the Lake District covering 3.8 km with 700 m of ascent and steep climbs to the summit of Kirk Fell. Junior races are included and adult entry is available on the day.

A challenging hill race in the Ochils, starting and finishing in Alva Glen. The 14.6 km route visits several summits, including Ben Cleuch. Entry is affordable, with prizes for top finishers and veterans.

Take on the classic Buttermere fell race on 25 October 2026 at Gatesgarth Farm, a tough 5 km senior route with 600 m of climbing plus short junior races. Enjoy a traditional shepherds meet atmosphere, entry on the day and a warm drink.

A multi-terrain ultra around the Tweed Valley based at Glentress Peel Visitor Centre in mid-November. Two route options, 65 km and 50 km, follow forest trails, riverside paths and open moorland with marked routes and aid stations.

A fell race on 21 November 2026 at Sale Fell bench near Wythop Mill with a roughly 3.7 mile 5.9 km course, junior races for U9 to U15, and prizes across senior and veteran categories.

Trail runs at the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill on 22 November 2026 include 10 km and 5 km off road courses plus a 1.2 km festive fun run for children. Proceeds from the fun run support local groups.
