Lakeland Trails Coniston : 6 June 2026

Lakeland Trails Coniston is a trail running event at Coniston Sports and Social Club that offers off-road courses through the Coppermines Valley and along the shores of Coniston Water. The routes pass panoramic views of the Old Man, Swirl How, Wetherlam and Dow Crags and follow well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways.

Courses mainly use hard‑packed trails with occasional muddy sections. One short section on the 16k route is steep and may be difficult to run; participants should be prepared to slow down or walk where necessary. Water is available on course but participants are asked to carry their own water or bring a reusable cup; there are two water stations on the 16k and one on the 10k. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Over ear and in ear headphones are not permitted; bone conductor headphones are allowed.

The event features an event village with local food and drink traders, a PA system with race commentary, live music and a photographer. There is a children’s Fun Trail for under 12s with on‑the‑day entry and finishers’ medals. Registration details require race numbers to be collected on the day at least 45 minutes before allocated start times. Results are published live online and prizes are awarded by open and veteran categories; 16k prize eligibility varies by start option.
