The Pooley Bridge Wild Trail Runs take place in Pooley Bridge at the northern tip of Ullswater in the Lake District. Waterside House and the adjacent campsite are used as a base for the event, providing lake and mountain views and access to the courses.

Event distances include:

  • Half Marathon Trail Run 13.1 miles (21.1 km)
  • 10km Trail Run 6.2 miles (10 km)

Route maps are available to view and download. Routes are subject to change and the final course details will be emailed to entrants a few days before the event.

The event is Cani Cross friendly. Each participant may run with one well controlled dog that must wear an appropriate harness and remain on a lead at all times.

Live chip timing is used, provided by Timing Up North, to record race results. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack. A custom event t shirt is offered as an optional extra for £12. On site parking is available for £5; further parking and access details are provided in the pre race information pack.

Age restrictions published for the event state the 10km is open to entrants aged 15 and over on the event date and the half marathon is open to entrants aged 17 and over on the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

This inaugural night run at Whinlatter Forest features chip-timed 5km and 10km courses on mixed trails. Starting at 6pm with individual starts, it welcomes runners with or without dogs and requires a head torch.
