Pooley Bridge Wild Trail Runs take place in Pooley Bridge in the Lake District, with the event base at Waterside Campsite / Waterside House. The organisers publish route maps for both distances; routes are free to view and download and are subject to change. Final routes and the exact venue address are sent in the pre-race briefing.

Two trail distances are offered:

  • Half Marathon 13.1 miles (21.1 km)
  • 10 km 6.2 miles (10 km)

The event is Cani-Cross friendly; each participant may run with one well-controlled dog. Dogs must wear an appropriate harness and remain on a lead at all times. Live chip timing is used and provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack.

A custom event t-shirt is available as an optional extra for £12. On-site parking is available for £5.00; further parking directions and access details are included in the pre-race information. Entry eligibility notes published by the organiser indicate minimum ages for each distance. Enjoy a classic 4 mile fell race around Whitestones in the Lake District, with scenic climbs and a fully flagged course in the Helm Hill Winter League. Pre entry or pay on the day and junior races for U10 to U16 are included.

Classic Lake District fell run from Braithwaite Lodge to Stile End, 8 km with 500 m of climb through scenic but testing winter terrain as the fourth race in the Kong Winter Series. Pre entry only and limited to 300 places; minimum age 16 an..

A 23 mile winter walk and run around the Lyth Valley from Abbot Hall Social Centre in Kendal, passing Cunswick Fell, Whitbarrow Scar and Scout Scar. The event has mandatory winter kit rules and currently operates a waiting list.

Tackle a scenic but stiff 4.7 km fell race at Elterwater Common in the Lake District as part of the Helm Hill Winter League, featuring a 396 m climb and great views. Entry on the day, juniors welcome, bring winter kit.
