Trail Running Calendar North West (England) 2026-2027

A trail 5km around Clowbridge Reservoir as part of a three race autumn series in September 2026, run over two anti clockwise laps. The course is open to ages 11 and over, mostly flat with about 25 m of ascent and prizes.

A timed, lap-based event on a flat 5.3 km riverside circuit in Chorlton Water Park offering distances from 5 km up to ultra within a seven hour limit, with an all-day vegetarian aid station and a bespoke finisher's medal.

Trail running in the Lake District from Grasmere with routes from 9 km to a 52 km ultra, visiting Tarn and the Fairfield Horseshoe on technical fell terrain. Multiple outposts, mandatory kit and GPX routes are provided.

A trail half marathon at Lakeland Maze Farm Park on Saturday 19th September 2026, finishing through the maze. Chip timing, aid stations, on-site parking and a cafe. Entry requires participants to be 18 or older and costs £35.

A multi-distance trail event in the Lake District National Park, 25 to 27 September 2026, linking the region's 13 valleys with races from 22.4 km to 184.3 km, ITRA points and Western States qualifiers, plus children's Future Valleys races.

A 102 mile canal route around Manchester with 11 checkpoints and live GPS tracking. The event has a 30 hour overall cut off, mandatory safety kit, qualifying criteria and buckle awards for finishers.

A licensed fell race at Orton C of E Primary School on 26 September 2026 featuring a 10 km course with 258 m of climb. Main entry fee is £10 and junior races for U10/12 and U14/16 have on day entry for £3.

Take on the Eskdale Show fell race in the Lake District, a scenic 6.9 km course with 277 m of climb across classic fell terrain. Open to adults and juniors, with easy entry on the day for spontaneous race plans.

The Three Shires Fell Race is a 22 km mountain event with 1535 m of climbing. Starting from Tilberthwaite Farm, this classic fell race requires navigational skills and specific safety kit for all participants.

A senior fell race near Cliviger covering 4.3 miles (7 km) with about 1310 feet of ascent. The flagged and marshaled course runs over moorland with steep climbs and grassy descents; entry fees are £6 or £8.

A flexible 24 hour trail event at Leighton Hall where individuals, pairs and teams take turns on a 5.75 km woodland and trail loop. Live timing, camping for competitors, on-site catering and prizes for top performances and most time on feet..

Tower to Castle Ultra 30 covers 30.9 miles from Blackpool Tower to Lancaster Castle with a ferry crossing at Fleetwood, way marked sections and compulsory checkpoints. Pre registration is required and entries close 20 September 2026.

A village based fell race on 27 September 2026 covering 11.3 km with 415 m ascent. The course is marshalled and partially flagged, basic waterproof kit is required, and prizes are awarded by age category and teams.

Trail Half Marathon and 10K through Delamere Forest on marked, technical woodland trails with chip timing, aid stations and a canicross option, plus eco-friendly measures and on-site race HQ at the visitor centre.

Worsley Woods 5 Mile Trail Race on 27 September 2026 takes place in Worsley, Manchester, organised by Swinton Running Club. Affiliated and unaffiliated entries are available with online fees and a £2 extra for entry on the day.
