Trail Running calendar near Wolstenholme 2026-2027

Trail half marathon and 10k at Carsington Water on 22 August 2026 with marked, undulating routes, marshals and an event village offering food, drink and partner goodies; discounted event t-shirts and volunteer roles are available.

A fell race from Hartsop in Patterdale covering 19.5 km with 1370 m ascent. The course includes multiple checkpoints, early route choices and steep technical descents, finishing back at the sheep pens.

Trail races on the flat Leeds/Liverpool Canal towpath at Kirkstall with five distances on a lapped 6.7 mile loop. Feed stations, marshals and finish food are provided; all finishers receive a bespoke medal.

Third and final event in the 2026 Summer Series at Chorlton Water Park, featuring lap-based timed running on a 5.3 km riverside course with a seven hour limit and a finishers medal for every participant.

A short fell race in Burnsall with a steep 274 m climb over 2.4 km. Entry on the day is available for £6 and junior races run alongside village sports.

An 8.8 km (5.5 mile) fell run around Pen Y Gwely reservoir near Rhydycroesau, featuring tracks, paths and fields with 225 m of climb. The course is partially marked, entry is £7 on the day and the minimum age is over 15.

A 30 km circular fell race around Belper on a chipped, fully signposted course that passes ancient Roman roads, farmland and woodland. Walkers and runners may enter; the route is not suitable for wheelchairs or dogs.

A multi distance trail event in Preston on 23 August 2026, with routes around Avenham Park, Miller Park and Upper Farm Nature Reserve. Distances include 10k, half marathon, marathon and an ultra on hard surface paths.

A single-lap, 21 kilometre trail race around Derwentwater and nearby fells in Keswick, with marked route, bespoke medal, event photos, age limit 17+, and prizes for top finishers and age-group winners.

A single lap 44 kilometre trail race around Scafell Pike near Keswick on 23 August 2026, with an unmarked mountain section where navigation is essential and participants should be prepared with suitable clothing and footwear.

A five mile trail race organised by Leigh Harriers at Leigh Sports Village on 23 August 2026, licenced by TRA and held under UK Athletics Rules. Affiliated and unaffiliated entry fees are listed.

A roughly 7-mile undulating multi-terrain trail race around Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park in Leeds on 23 August 2026, organised by Valley Striders AC with race HQ at Old Leo's and an entry limit of 450.

A 21k trail run around Borrowdale based in Keswick, featuring lakeshore trails, woodland singletrack and 550 m of ascent. The course is fully marked, chip timed and supported with hydration and medical cover.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

Tackle Roseberry Topping on Wed 26 Aug 2026 in this classic short fell race hosted from Newton under Roseberry. Expect a punchy 2.3 km course with big climb and great views, junior entries welcome and on the day entry available.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

Take on the classic Holcombe Two Towers fell race on Wednesday 26 August 2026 in the South West Pennines, a challenging 4 mile course with 400 m of climb through rugged moorland. Expect steep trails, great views and a lively community atmos..

Experience a traditional Lake District fell race at the Ennerdale Show. This event features an 8 km senior course and various junior races with registration available on the day.

A non stop 130 mile canal towpath race from Liverpool to Leeds run under UK Athletics rules. Open to runners aged 20 and over, the event has a 40 hour limit and a limited number of unsupported entries with regular feed points.
