Trail Running calendar near Lymm 2026-2027

A TRA licensed 5 mile trail race on 23 August 2026 at Leigh Sports Village, organised by Leigh Harriers AC with affiliated and unaffiliated entry options.

A 7-mile undulating multi-terrain trail race in Leeds on 23 August 2026, organised by Valley Striders AC, running through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park with fundraising for St Gemma's Hospice.

Rumble In The Jumble V is a six hour challenge in Penistone with out-and-back laps along an old railway line, offering distances from 5K to ultra. Aid stations, a choice of medals and a goody bag are provided.

A guided trail run meeting at the Ponderosa cafe that follows an around 7 km route on Llantysilio Mountain via Moel y Faen and Moel y Gamelin. The run moves at a steady pace with regular regrouping stops.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

An evening trail race at National Trust Lyme on 25 August 2026 featuring a single 10K lap with 272 m of ascent, free park admission and on site food vendors.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

A midweek fell race near Bury covering about 6.5 km with 400 m of climb, held at the Hare & Hounds. The event allows teams, requires a minimum age of 16, and has a 1 hour 10 minute cutoff at Moorbottom Road.

Pop up trail running event in Kirkstall with 5 km and 10 km races, licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules, with food and a jumble medal for runners.

A non stop 130 mile canal towpath race from Liverpool to Leeds run under UK Athletics rules. Open to runners aged 20 and over, the event has a 40 hour limit and a limited number of unsupported entries with regular feed points.

Tackle a classic Pennines fell race in Pendleton on 29 August 2026. The 8 km course packs 457 m of ascent across rough terrain, with on the day entries and homemade cakes and a cosy village pub to reward you.

Trail races from half marathon to 50 miles around Skipton following Pennine Way and Dales Way with mandatory kit and checkpoint support.

Nottingham Running Festival at Nottingham Racecourse in Colwick Country Park features a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and junior race, supports Nottinghamshire Hospice, and includes medals, free photos, chip timed results and an event village.

A community 5k at Hugglescote Grange on 30 August 2026 with a two lap route that may change as footpaths open. Walking, children and dog friendly with a medal for participants and limited on site parking.

Historic fell races are central to Grasmere Lakeland Sports and Show, with junior and senior Guides races over measured fell routes. Entries are accepted on the day and advance registration is available online.

A hill race near Porthmadog covering 7.2 km with 564 m of ascent, partially marked and requiring navigational skills and experience. Entry is day only for £5 and teams may enter free.

A 9 mile fell race with about 2,800 ft of ascent visiting Tal y Fan and Moel Lus, featuring five ordered checkpoints and a cut off at CP2. Entry is limited to 100 and online registration opens 1/6/26.

A fell race at Powder House Field near Hebden on 31 August 2026 covering 1.50 miles 3.20 km with about 400 feet 244 meters of climb, featuring a steep ascent, top running and an uphill finish.

A short fell race at the Reeth Show on 31 August 2026 that climbs to Fremington Edge and returns across quarry workings and fields. Categories run from Under 9 to Seniors and it counts as a BOFRA championship counter.

Join the Dark Side Of The Combe on Mon 31 Aug 2026 in the Lake District as part of the Black Combe Country Fair at Bootle. This 12.5 km fell race with 625 m ascent is a tough, scenic test and has on the day entry.
