Trail Running calendar near Guisborough 2025-2026

Explore Coatham Woods near Eaglescliffe in CLOK's regional orienteering event at Birk Brow and Skelton Warren on Sunday 14 Dec. Routes from beginner white to challenging brown suit all abilities, dogs welcome and limited entries on the day.

Celebrate the season with a festive 7 hour time challenge along the River Wear, enjoying scenic cathedral views as you choose how far to run or walk. Finish at least 5 km to claim a themed medal and a running buff.

Tackle the classic Simonside Cairns fell race near Rothbury on Sun 14 Dec 2025: 11 miles with 540 m of ascent and counting toward the North East Fell Running Championships. Entry on the day £10 includes soup and a roll; teams welcome.

Run into the night on an unmarked rough route to Chapelfell Top in the Silent Night Race. This 6.6 km out and back with 370 m of climb requires navigation, strict kit and pre entry, making it a real test for experienced fell runners.

On 20 December take on the Beyond the Lune Skyline Winter Ultra, a 65 km loop from Kirkby Lonsdale climbing seven summits and finishing with beer or mulled wine and sourdough pizza. Tough, scenic and hugely satisfying.

Join PieAthlon 2025, a fun 6 km trail from The Dusty Miller Pub with three pie tasting stations and scenic Longwood views. Expect muddy off road terrain, fancy dress, medals and prizes while supporting the local Scout Group.
