The Ultra Loop : Temple Newsam Park, Leeds
The Ultra Loop is an 8-hour looped running event where participants run as many 5 km circuits of Temple Newsam Park as they can within the time limit. There is no upper limit on total distance; participants receive a finishing time and a medal regardless of how many laps they complete.
The course is a single 5 km loop that combines woodland trail, gravel paths and park road, with approximately 88 m of elevation. The route explores Temple Newsam’s woodlands and gardens and is not on a closed course, so runners should expect other park users such as walkers and dog walkers. Organisers recommend trail shoes because of the mixed terrain.
Results record the number of laps completed, the total distance and elapsed time. The start line also serves as the lap timing line; runners finish by crossing that same line and informing event staff. Any laps not completed before the 8-hour cut-off are excluded from final results.
Practical details provided to entrants include a confirmation email, an event guide before the day and bib collection at registration on the morning of the event. There is a single aid station at the start/finish area with water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes supplied by VOOM. Participants may use a bag drop and are asked to bring their own bottle as cups will not be provided. Under-12s are not permitted; entrants aged 12 to 15 require a parent or guardian to arrange the place and attend the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
