Event Overview

The Goole Riverbank Challenge takes place on Sunday 19 July 2026 in Goole, East Riding. This edition is scheduled to coincide with the Goole bicentennial celebrations. This multi-terrain race follows a single-lap course and has an entry limit of 350 participants. Interested individuals must register in advance as entries on the day are not available.

Course Details

The route is predominantly flat and covers a distance of 10 km. The course starts on the riverbank of the Ouse and passes through the village of Hook. Participants run around the Riverside Gardens bandstand before returning to the start and finish line along the riverbank. The terrain is varied and the event is not suitable for wheelchairs.

Race Features and Facilities

The event provides chip timing for all participants. The race headquarters is located at the Westfield Banks Sports Complex in Hook, where facilities include toilets, changing rooms, showers, and baggage storage. Results are managed with the support of a specialist event medical team and on-course marshals. Free car parking is available close to the start and finish area.

Food and drinks are available on the day, and post-race massages are offered. Entrants receive a bespoke finisher's medal. Depending on the entry tier selected, participants may also receive a bicentennial technical T-shirt featuring local landmarks. The Normanby Hall Adventure Race returns for its 11th year in 2026. Tackle a 5 km or 10 km course over a cross-country horse track featuring water, mud, and jumps. All finishers get a medal and cake, with profits supporting local charities.

Run along the scenic Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Rodley with distances ranging from 10k to an Ultra Marathon. Enjoy a flat out and back course on a well maintained towpath with support stations every three miles.

Traverse the scenic Yorkshire Wolds starting from the Driffield Showground with 30 or 50 mile route options. Participants enjoy checkpoint support and a post event meal at this long distance walking and running event.

Trail races of 5km, 10km and a half marathon take place at Bramham Park on 12 April 2026, using woodland trails that pass estate buildings and statues. Live chip timing is provided and finishers receive a medal and refreshments.
