Chip Chase

Chip Chase is a British Standard fell race held from the Cross Keys Inn in Uppermill, Saddleworth. The course is a BS Fell Race of 10 km / 6.2 miles with approximately 400 m / 1 312 ft of climb, run on Peak District hills overlooking Manchester. The route is fully flagged and marshalled on paths and includes one steep climb.

The event headquarters is at the Cross Keys pub. On arrival participants are asked to park on Church Road or Church Lane rather than in the pub car park. The race start is a short walk from the pub. Timing devices and race numbers are collected at HQ; runners who retire must report to HQ and return their timing device.

Entry is through SiEntries, with on the day entry subject to capacity limits. Entries open 28 January 2026 and close 6 August 2026. Entry fees are listed as FRA member £8.00 and non member £10.00. Minimum age for entry is 18 years. The entry fee includes a chip butty at the finish; drinks are not included.

Prize categories include the first three men and women, veteran categories from V40 in five year bands, U23, and team prizes scored on the top four finishers. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof top with hood and taped seams and a fully charged mobile phone; water and food are at the runner's discretion and kit checks will be carried out.
