Chip Chase is a BS classified fell race held in the Peak District around Uppermill, Saddleworth. The race starts from the Cross Keys Inn (OL3 6LW) and runs on hill paths in the South/West Pennines with views down toward Manchester. The course is approximately 10 km (6.2 miles) with about 400 m of climb. The route is fully flagged and marshalled on paths and includes one steep climb.

Entry is open for those aged 18 or older. Both pre-entry and entry on the day are available. Pre-entry fees are listed for members and non-members, and on-the-day fees are higher; the entry fee includes a post-race chip butty. Teams are permitted with the first four men and the first four women forming their respective teams. There are no junior races for this event.

The race holds a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance provided via the FRA. Runners should note that marshals and flagged lines are provided and that competitors who retire must report to headquarters and return timing devices.
