The Chip Chase takes place on Sun 9 Aug 2026 in England, in the South/West Pennines and Peak District near Saddleworth. The venue is the Cross Keys Inn, Uppermill, Saddleworth, OL3 6LW. The race is a British Orienteering/BS category fell race with a Permit and UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Minimum age is 18. Teams are allowed; the first four men and the first four women form their respective teams. There are no junior races.

Entries and course

The course is on hills overlooking Manchester, fully flagged and marshalled on paths, and includes one steep climb. The distance is 10 km (6.2 miles) with 400 m (1,312 ft) of climb. The event uses a mass start with the start area a 10-minute walk from the pub; there is an early start option for slower runners. Entry is available both in advance and on the day. Pre-entry fees are £8.00 (members) and £10.00 (non-members). Entry on the day fees are £10.00 (members) and £12.00 (non-members). The entry fee includes chip butties at the finish.
