Chip Chase

The Chip Chase is a fell running race situated in the Peak District, featuring a course that offers views over Manchester. The event is categorized as a BS fell race and serves as an introduction to this type of terrain. The route primarily follows paths and includes one steep climb. The entire course is fully flagged and supported by marshals at specific points to assist participants.

The event headquarters is located at the Cross Keys Inn in Uppermill, Saddleworth. Participants are required to collect their timing devices and race numbers at the pub before walking approximately ten minutes to the start line. Mandatory equipment includes a waterproof top with an attached hood and a fully charged mobile phone.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Registration is available via pre-entry or on the day of the event. Following the run, a serving of chips is provided to all participants at the race headquarters, with the cost included in the entry fee. A prize ceremony is held for the top three male and female finishers, age categories from V40 in five-year increments, under-23s, and the top four teams.
