Chip Chase

Chip Chase is a BS fell race held in the Peak District with views toward Manchester. The course covers 10 km (about 6.2 miles) with approximately 400 m (1312 ft) of ascent. The route runs mainly on paths, is fully flagged, and has marshal points; it includes one steep climb.

The race headquarters is at the Cross Keys pub in Uppermill. Participants are asked to park on Church Road or Church Lane rather than in the pub car park. Timing devices and race numbers are collected at headquarters, and the start lies about a 10 minute walk from the pub. If a competitor retires or needs assistance they should speak to a marshal and report back to headquarters, returning their timing device.

Competitors should carry a fully charged mobile phone and bring a waterproof top with an attached hood; other kit is unlikely to be required. Chips are provided as part of the entry fee and food will be available to purchase separately. Prize categories include the first three overall, V40 and then in five year age categories, U23, and teams scored on the top four finishers. The minimum age for entry is 18. Entries on the day are accepted and there are published entry fees for members and non members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
