Trail Running calendar near Follifoot 2026-2027

A traditional AM fell race established in 2025, the Hartsop Hop covers 19.5 km with 1,370 m of ascent from the sheep pens above Hartsop. The route includes five checkpoints, steep descents, and route choices across high cols.

A lapped towpath event on the Leeds/Liverpool Canal offering five distances, on-course feed stations, marshals and finisher food and medals in Kirkstall, Leeds.

A 7-mile undulating multi-terrain trail race in Leeds on 23 August 2026, organised by Valley Striders AC, running through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park with fundraising for St Gemma's Hospice.

A Backyard Ultra style 12 hour event at Cadwell Park where runners complete a 6.7 km lap each hour for a potential total of 80.4 km. Categories include solo and pairs plus a six hour non competitive option.

Rumble In The Jumble V is a six hour challenge in Penistone with out-and-back laps along an old railway line, offering distances from 5K to ultra. Aid stations, a choice of medals and a goody bag are provided.

Take on the Trunce 8, a classic Peak District fell race starting and finishing at Oxspring Playing Field. The 6.2 km route climbs 190 m and entry is on the day for £3, with a junior 3 km race for over 10s at £1.

A one lap trail and road race of approximately 10K at National Trust Lyme in Disley with 272 metres of ascent, full course marshals and marking, free park admission and food vendors at the Timber Yard. Entry options from £28.

Tackle Roseberry Topping on Wed 26 Aug 2026 in this classic short fell race hosted from Newton under Roseberry. Expect a punchy 2.3 km course with big climb and great views, junior entries welcome and on the day entry available.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

A midweek fell race near Bury covering about 6.5 km with 400 m of climb, held at the Hare & Hounds. The event allows teams, requires a minimum age of 16, and has a 1 hour 10 minute cutoff at Moorbottom Road.

A pop up evening running event in Kirkstall, Leeds offering 5k and 10k routes along canal-side paths. Entry is available on the night or online and runners receive a jumble medal plus food and drink options.

A scenic 10 km trail race through Derwent Walk Country Park near Newcastle and Gateshead on 29 August 2026. The event features chip timing, finishers medals, street food and onsite amenities at Blaydon Rugby Club.

A non stop 130 mile canal towpath race from Liverpool to Leeds run under UK Athletics rules. Open to runners aged 20 and over, the event has a 40 hour limit and a limited number of unsupported entries with regular feed points.

Join the Arnison Crag Horseshoe fell race in Patterdale on Sat 29 Aug 2026, starting at King George Playing Fields as part of Patterdale Dog Day. A steep 5 km with 300 m climb, entries on the day £5, minimum age 14.
