PECO XC Junior League 2026-27 Race 2
This event is Race 2 of the PECO Junior Cross Country League, a series of five junior cross country races organised in and around Leeds alongside the senior league. The race takes place at Pontefract Park, Pontefract, West Yorkshire. The field is limited to 700 entrants and the race is not suitable for wheelchairs. A race licence has been applied for.
Junior races are chip timed and cover approximately 1 to 2 miles on an undulating cross country course, run as a single lap. Entrants are grouped by age: those aged under 11 on 1 September 2026 (usually school years 2 to 6) run about 1 mile; those aged 11 or over on 1 September 2026 but under 16 (usually school years 7 to 11) run about 2 miles.
A season ticket priced at £8.00 provides entry to all five junior races, plus the end of season relays and prize presentation. Season tickets can only be purchased online. Registered competitors collect a season race number at their first race and must keep that number for the whole season; replacements for lost or damaged numbers are available at Race HQ for £2.50 for juniors.
Race facilities at Pontefract Park are limited: no toilets, no water, no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
