Trail Running calendar near Downham 2026-2027

A night trail run on 19 June 2027 from Goathland Village Hall, the Lamplighter 40 covers about 40 miles across the North York Moors with marked routes, GPX tracks, trackers and staffed checkpoints; finishers receive a Lamplighter medal.

A night trail of about 20 miles from Goathland Village Hall across the North York Moors, run from sunset to sunrise with trackers, mapped route and mandatory kit; limited to 40 entrants and available as solo or pair entries.

A 5 mile multi-terrain run at Bolton Abbey Estate on 21 June 2027 raising funds for Sue Ryder. Chip timing and a bespoke medal are included; a virtual entry with medal posted is available.

A trail Half Marathon and 10k at Carsington Water in Derbyshire on 26 June 2027, featuring waterside and countryside routes. Entries include chip timing, photos and a themed medal, with marked trails, marshals and a GPX route file.

A 12K obstacle course at Bramham Ln, Wetherby on 26 June 2027 featuring 25 obstacles and event extras such as a finishers T shirt and a Victory Beer. A double lap option is available to complete 24K.

An 8-hour loop event at Lyme Park where runners complete as many 5km laps as they can. The mixed-terrain course records laps, distance and time, with an aid station, bag drop and basic facilities at the start/finish.

The The Cragg Challenge will take place in Mytholmroyd on Sunday 27 June 2027. You can run between 5 and 10 miles.

A guided trail running weekend in Horton in Ribblesdale tackling the Yorkshire 3 Peaks over a 38.6 km route with 1585 m ascent. Includes bunkhouse accommodation, guided runs and an optional 10 km recovery loop on the Pennine Way.

A trail running event in Teesdale on 4 July 2027 offering 3.5, 9 and 15 mile marked courses with marshals, aid stations and a five hour cut off. The event includes post run yoga, photos, finish mementos and parking options.

A course-marked mountain race from Patterdale covering 57 km with 3700 m ascent, featuring ridge running, Striding and Swirral Edges, and GPS tracking. Entry requires a minimum age of 19 and the event awards ITRA/UTMB points.

A technical *28 km* skyrace with 2700 m of ascent around Helvellyn near Patterdale on 17 July 2027. The route includes hands on rock sections and scrambling and requires demonstrated mountain and climbing experience to enter.

Overnight 12-hour running event on a flat **3.21 Mile** circuit around Wath Manvers Lake with a clubhouse offering toilets, showers, food, bag drop and included parking. Camping is available for an extra fee.

An eight hour loop event at Rivington Pike where participants run as many 5 km laps as they can on a mixed road and trail course with about 204 m ascent per lap. Results record laps, distance and time and every finisher gets a medal.

An 8-hour looped running event at Rother Valley Country Park where participants complete as many 5 km laps as they can. Results list laps, total distance and time, and all finishers receive a medal.

A 100 mile ultramarathon in the United Kingdom on 25 to 26 September 2027, organised by GB Ultras and listed in the Ultra Great Britain Race Series. The series notes live online GPS tracking for its events.

A 38.1 mile ultra from Lancaster to Wigan that is Day 3 of the MTC ALBION end to end series, limited to 40 entrants. The event includes checkpoint food, a mandatory kit list, tracking with SOS and a bespoke finisher medal.
