The Pike

The Pike is an inclusive, timed running event held in Rivington, UK. Participants have an eight hour time limit in which they may run as many laps as they can on a fixed loop. Each completed lap is recorded and every finisher receives a finishing time and a medal.

The course is a mixed road and trail loop of approximately 5 km with about 204 m (669 ft) of elevation per lap. The route is not on a closed course, so runners may encounter walkers and dog walkers. Trail shoes are recommended for sections of uneven terrain.

Registration includes a confirmation email and an event guide sent before race day. Race bibs are collected at registration on the morning of the event. Entrants aged 12 to 15 must have a parent or guardian contact the organiser and that parent or guardian must attend the event. Under 12s are not allowed to participate.

The start/finish area houses the single aid station and spectator zone. The aid station supplies water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes from the event sponsor VOOM. Participants are asked to bring their own bottles as no cups are provided. A bag drop is available throughout the event and portable toilets are provided. Results show number of laps completed, total distance and elapsed time. A leaderboard and course records are maintained. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
