LRC Tees Trailtastic is a trail running event in Barnard Castle, County Durham, held on 21 June 2026. Courses and entry

Distances offered:

  • 3.5 miles - open to runners aged 15 or older
  • 9 miles - open to runners aged 17 or older
  • 15 miles - open to runners aged 17 or older

Entries open 4 December 2025 and close 15 June 2026. Entry fees vary by distance and UKA membership status (for example, 3.5 miles £10–£12; 9 miles £23–£25; 15 miles £30–£32). The entry list showed 13 participants at the time of posting.

Support, safety and facilities

All courses are marshalled and signposted. Cut-off time for completion is five hours. Aid stations are provided on course: one for the 3.5 mile route, two for the 9 mile route, and four for the 15 mile route, offering water and fuel supplied by Precision Fuel & Hydration. Toilets are available at the race headquarters. Paid parking is available at Teesdale School (£5); there are limited free parking places around the town. Experience the Hamsterley Winter Trails on 10 January 2026 with half marathon and 10k options through scenic, undulating forest trails at Hamsterley Forest Park. Enjoy eco perks such as an event mug, hot soup and downloadable photos.

Join a guided recce of the Hardmoors 55 on 17 January 2026, around 25 miles from Osmotherley to Helmsley with checkpoints and hot drinks at the finish. Not a race, groups are led by experienced run leaders with sweepers.

Join the Rise From The Ashes Run, a 7 hour timed trail along the River Wear with stunning Cathedral views, offering distances from a short 3 km up to marathon and ultra options. Finishers get a themed medal and goody bag with vegan choices.
