Nine Standards is scheduled for 1 January 2026 in Kirkby Stephen, England (postal code CA17 4QT, grid reference 775088). It is a BM-category fell race held on the hills above Kirkby Stephen. The course is an out-and-back route. The event is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules and has associated permit and insurance.
Course and facilities
The advertised distance is 8 miles (12.9 km) with 1801 ft (549 m) of climb. Registration is at the Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Base, Christian Head (CA17 4HA), a short walk from the start in the Market Square (CA17 4QT). From 2026 onwards the route will be considered a new course due to extensive path improvements. Junior races are not included. Teams are allowed.
Entry and requirements
Pre-entry is required; there is no entry on the day. Entries open 19 November 2025 and close 29 December 2025. Pre-entry fees are £10.00 for FRA members and £12.00 for non-members.
