The MTC Severn Path Ultra

The MTC Severn Path Ultra is a point to point ultra running event over an advertised distance of 59 miles. The 10th edition finishes in Worcester and follows sections of the River Severn through towns and landmarks including Shrewsbury, Atcham, Cressage, Buildway, Ironbridge, Jackfield, Coalport, Apley Forge, Hampton, Upper Arley, Bewdley, Stourport and Holt Heath.

The course profile shows total ascent of 786 metres and total descent of 816 metres. Competitors must maintain a minimum average speed of 4.0 miles per hour or they will be withdrawn. The route is partly unmarked and organisers recommend using the provided GPX files for navigation; sections of the Severn Path can be overgrown and signs may be obscured.

There are four check-point stations along the route. Check-point food provisions can be set to Vegan or Gluten Free at registration; participants who require other specific food must provide and label their own bags for each check-point. All finishers receive a bespoke Severn Path Ultra medal and a MTC head visor; additional trophies are awarded to first male and female finishers.

Entries are non-refundable; standard solo entry is listed at £90. The event publishes a mandatory kit list including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, OS Map 150, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit.
