The MTC Severn Path Ultra

The MTC Severn Path Ultra is a point-to-point ultramarathon held on 10 July 2026. The route is listed at roughly 59–60 miles and this is the 10th edition. The race starts in Shrewsbury (Premier Inn, SY1 1PG) and finishes in Worcester City (Travelodge, WR1 2QS). All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a head visor. The standard solo entry fee is £90 and deposits and payments are non-refundable.

Route, checkpoints and rules

The course follows the River Severn through Shrewsbury, Atcham, Cressage, Buildwas, Ironbridge, Jackfield, Coalport, Apley Forge, Bridgnorth, Hampton, Upper Arley, Bewdley, Stourport, Holt Heath, and into Worcester. There are four checkpoint stations located at Wroxeter (outside Wroxeter Hotel, SY5 6PH), Woodridge Inn (TF8 7JF), Unicorn Inn (WV16 6BN), and Angel Inn (DY13 9EW). Checkpoint food options include vegan and gluten free choices; competitors may also provide named, sealed food bags for collection at specific checkpoints. Participants must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, Ordnance Survey Map 150 or downloadable map, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food (two chocolate bars), and a basic first aid kit. Competitors must maintain a minimum speed of 4.0 mph or they will be withdrawn. The event is cup-free; participants should bring their own reusable cup.
