Logistics, kit and rules
There are four checkpoint stations on the route. Checkpoint food options include vegan and gluten free choices if selected at registration; competitors with other dietary needs must supply labelled food bags for each checkpoint. Finishers receive a bespoke Severn Path Ultra medal and an MTC head visor. Entry details note a Standard Solo fee of £90 and that deposits and payments are non-refundable; a deferral option to the following year is available for a fee if requested within the stated entry window. All entrants must be 20 years or over on the race start day. Competitors must maintain a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph or they will not be allowed to continue. The organisers recommend using GPX files for navigation because much of the route is unsignposted and can be overgrown. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, Ordnance Survey Map 150 (or downloadable maps), compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit.
