The MTC Severn Path Ultra

The MTC Severn Path Ultra is a point to point ultra running event held on 10 July 2026. The published route covers approximately 59 miles and follows the River Severn for much of the course, passing through Shrewsbury and continuing via Atcham, Cressage, Buildway, Iron-bridge, Jack-field, Coal-port, Apley Forge, Bridge north, Hampton, Upper Arley, Bewdley, Stourport, Holt Heath and finishing in Worcester.

The course is described as generally flat along the river with some sections where the path moves away from the river. Total ascent is given as 786 metres and total descent as 816 metres. The event is a point to point route so competitors must arrange their own transport from the finish. Car parking is not available at the stated start or finish hotels.

The race has four checkpoint stations offering food and drink with vegan and gluten free options selectable at registration; competitors may supply their own labelled food bags for checkpoints if required. All events are cup free so a reusable cup is required.

All finishers receive a bespoke Severn Path Ultra medal and a MTC head visor. Entry fees are non refundable and the standard solo entry fee is listed as £90.00. Competitors must meet a minimum average pace requirement of 4.0 miles per hour and carry the mandatory kit, which includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, map, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit. Entrants must be at least 20 years old on the start day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
