The MTC Severn Path Ultra is a point-to-point ultra running race held on 10 July 2026. The course distance is approximately 59–60 miles with about 786 m of ascent and 816 m of descent. This is the 10th edition of the event. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher medal and a head visor. The standard solo entry fee is £90. All deposits and payments are non-refundable.

Route and logistics

The route starts in Shrewsbury (Premier Inn, SY1 1PG) and finishes in Worcester (Travelodge, WR1 2QS). It follows the River Severn through towns and landmarks including Atcham, Cressage, Ironbridge, Jackfield, Coalport, Apley Forge, Upper Arley, Bewdley, Stourport and Holt Heath. The course is not fully signed and can be overgrown; use of GPX files is recommended. The race is point-to-point and competitors must arrange their own transport from the finish. Car parking is not available at the start or finish hotels.

Entry, checkpoints and safety

There are four checkpoint stations. Checkpoint catering offers vegan and gluten-free options if selected at registration; competitors who need other food must supply labelled bags for each checkpoint. Competitors must maintain a minimum pace of 4.0 mph or they will be withdrawn. Entrants must be at least 20 years old on race day. A mandatory kit list includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, map, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food (two chocolate bars), and a basic first-aid kit. Hit the Alyn Waters Winter Trails on 6 December 2025 for scenic 5 km and 10 km chip timed trail races, plus a 5 km canicross and a free children's 1 km dash. Friendly, accessible courses with medals for all and marshals throughout.

Take on 50 miles of winter trails around Telford and Shropshire, taking in Ironbridge and the Wrekin at the Telford T50 Trail Run. Clear waymarking, well stocked aid stations and friendly marshals make for a rewarding endurance day.
